Meet the founder - James

I'm James, the founder of Kindling Support. My journey has been shaped by seeing the support system from two different angles: as a passionate advocate for a loved one, and as someone who navigated the system myself.

This dual perspective began with my lived experience in the DCJ system as a young person, which gave me a unique sense of empathy and firsthand knowledge of individuals' challenges. This understanding was deepened when I supported a loved one and saw how much courage it takes to find a path forward in a system that often lacks genuine care.

My time in the sector gave me a deep appreciation for the challenges people face. It also inspired me to create something new—a more personalised, grassroots service where I could build genuine, long-term connections and tailor my support to each individual's unique needs and strengths. 

I founded Kindling Support in Dubbo to provide more than just a service—I wanted to be a trusted partner who offers genuine empathy, reliable support, and a commitment to helping individuals live their most fulfilling lives. My mission is to bridge the gap between people and the resources they need, ensuring everyone is met with the compassion and respect they deserve.

My commitment is rooted in both personal passion and professional expertise. To ensure I provide the highest standard of care, I hold certifications in community services, youth work, individual support, and mental health. I use this knowledge to offer a reliable, safe, and genuinely empowering service for everyone I support.

My services, including in-home support, mentoring and community access are highly personalised. I work alongside you to understand your needs, celebrate your strengths, and provide the tools you need to succeed.

I serve communities throughout the Orana and Central West regions, from Dubbo and its surroundings to Orange, Bathurst, and everywhere in between.
